About Raising the Game

Raising the Game is a weekly women's sports podcast covering the WNBA, NWSL, PWHL, the USWNT, college sports, and the business behind all of it. New episodes come out every Wednesday, and every episode gets a written recap and full transcript here on the site.

Why we do this

Women's sports is growing faster than the coverage of it. Viewership, attendance, and investment keep climbing, but it is still hard to find one place that follows every league week to week and explains why the stories matter. We want to be that place, for longtime fans and for people who are just getting into it.

We are also raising two daughters, and we want them to grow up in a world where women's sports is simply sports. Talking about it every week is our small part in that.

Who we are

The show is hosted by Caitlin Tripp and Alex Tripp, a married couple in Minnesota. Caitlin is a former all-state goalkeeper and longtime girls soccer coach with a kinesiology background who now works as a senior chief of staff. Alex is a technical program manager who came to women's sports as an adult and asks the questions newer fans are probably thinking. He also edits the show and built this site.

How we cover the news

We are fans and commentators, not a newsroom. We don't claim scoops or inside sources. When we report facts, like stats, contract figures, attendance, or league announcements, they come from the leagues, teams, and published journalism, and we link to those sources in our recaps wherever we can. When we give an opinion, we try to make it clear that it's ours.

Recaps are written from each episode's transcript and reviewed by the hosts before they're published. Transcripts are lightly cleaned up for readability and are otherwise what was said on the show.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we want to know. Email us at raisingthegamepod@gmail.com. When a fact in a recap is wrong, we fix it on the page and add a note saying what changed. If the mistake was on the air, we'll also correct it on the next episode.

Sponsorship and independence

Raising the Game is independent and has no sponsors. No league, team, brand, or guest pays us for coverage, and we don't pay guests to appear. If that ever changes, any sponsored segment or paid partnership will be clearly labeled on the show and on this site.
